Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.

Money—investing, personal finance, and business decisions—is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.

In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.

  • Simply wonderful!

What a fantastic read! The postscript is reason enough to want to buy and read this book. I have yet to find a more perfect synopsis of America’s economic history and the resultant actions of us as American consumers, in a concise yet thorough examination. This book also bucks the trend of the proverbial, “Everyone should do this with their money” ideal. It brings up excellent points to consider but that ultimately, those money decisions need to make sense for you and your family. Highly recommended!

That is one of the biggest advices I can get from this book. It’s an introspective exercise of seeing what do you want in life and how should you act to achieve those goals with one of the biggest instruments you have, you’re savings.

This is one of the better books I’ve read the last few years. It’s mainly the idea of understanding the foolish ways we think that interrupt our chances of saving money. It’s really a great book. Each chapter is too the point and impactful. I recommend it to everyone
